Make plans now to attend the 2002 Tri-State Volleyball Camp to be held July 22-25 at Mediapolis (Iowa) High School.  The 2002 featured clinicians will be announced here soon. 


 

The Tri-State Volleyball Camp is now set for the summer of 2001.

This camp is held annually the last week of July at Mediapolis (Iowa) High School.   It is open to any girl who will be in 7th - 12th grades in the fall of 2001.   This year's camp will be July 23-26 at Mediapolis High School, 725 North Northfield, Mediapolis, Iowa.  Where is Mediapolis, Iowa?  Click here to find out. 

This camp includes: morning and afternoon instruction sessions from featured clinicians; a knowledgeable, enthusiastic camp staff; daily skills competitions with winners receiving medals; a week-long volleyball league - league champions receive special t-shirts; camp participation certificate; camp t-shirt.

The first 50 who register will receive a FREE VOLLEYBALL.

Stuart Sherman
Head Volleyball Coach
Graceland University
Lamoni, Iowa

Stuart Sherman is the Head Coach of the Graceland University Men’s Volleyball team.  In the past seven years, Sherman has guided the Yellowjackets to seven top ten finishes at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Associations Volleyball Championships including runner up finishes in 1994 and 1999. In 1998, Sherman’s team was crowned NIRSA Champions. Sherman coached last year’s team to a 26-12 overall record and a 17th place finish in the NIRSA Tournament. Since his arrival in 1993, Sherman has amassed an impressive career record of 260-84--a 75.8% winning percentage.

As a member of the USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program Cadre, Stuart conducts national coaching clinics around the country and was named the 1998 "Outstanding Clinician" by USA Volleyball.

Sherman has been a coach for the USA Volleyball’s National Development Camps since 1982 and served as an assistant coach on the USA Youth National Team that captured the gold medal in the North America/Central America/Caribbean Championships in 1994.

Mr. Sherman’s affiliation with Graceland Volleyball started in 1981 as player where he earned the conference "Most Valuable Player" award two years in row. Sherman played from 81 thru 1985 and graduated from Graceland in 1986 with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies. Stuart went on to receive his Masters Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. In addition to his coaching duties, Sherman serves as a faculty member and coordinates the Wellness Management major for the University.

Bruce Huddleson

Bruce Huddleson is the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa   He is also on the coaching staff of the Great River Juniors Volleyball Club based in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Prior to returning to school to complete a Masters degree, Bruce was the Girl's Volleyball Coach at Fort Madison Aquinas High School for 20 years from 1978 to 1997.  In 1993 he was named Southeast Iowa Super Conference coach of the year.  He has twice been selected by his coaching peers to coach in the Southeast Iowa Volleyball Classic – an all-star match for area high school seniors.  When he is not coaching, Bruce is also an active volleyball official.

Bruce served 12 years as Camp Director of River City Volleyball Camp and played for 5 years on the Iowa State University Men's Volleyball Club.  In addition to earning his USA Volleyball CAP I level coaching accreditation, Bruce has attended numerous volleyball clinics and national NCAA tournaments.

At Southeastern Community College, Bruce is the Coordinator of Instructional Technologies.  Bruce and his wife, Dianne, live in Fort Madison.

Terry Carlson

Ottumwa, Iowa

Terry Carlson is the head coach of the Indian Hills Community College volleyball team.  He is an instructor, co-coordinator of the college’s intramural programs, student activities and oversees operations at the Tom Arnold Net Center. 

Carlson started the volleyball program at Ankeny high school in 1987 and compiled a record of 218-121-5.  He was the head coach of the Iowa Blizzard professional women’s volleyball team during the 1997 and 1998 seasons.  In 1996, Carlson was the competition coordinator for the A.A.U. Junior Volleyball Championships in Des Moines and in 1997 and 1998 he was the competition coordinator for the A.A.U. Championship series in Orlando, Florida.  He was named the metro league’s national division coach of the year in 1994 and 1996.  He was also a member of the 1995 Nike Volleyball Festival staff.

Coach Carlson earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and a master’s degree from Drake University in Des Moines.  He and his wife, Pert, have a daughter, Elizabeth and a son, Brian.
