DeAnn Woodin
Head Volleyball Coach
Kirkwood Community College
Cedar Rapids, Iowa
The Kirkwood Eagles volleyball program is one of the most elite in NJCAA Division II.  The Eagles finished fourth in the Nation in 2001 and won the Division II National Championship in 2003 under first year coach DeAnn Woodin.

Coach Woodin is starting her second season leading the Kirkwood program.  She has been involved in playing and coaching college volleyball for the past nine years. A Waverly, Iowa native, she began her higher education at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa for the remainder of her college career.  She played on the 1997 Panthers team, then decided to focus on the coaching and leadership aspects of the game as a student coach and assistant, as well as junior club volleyball coach for the Waverly Volleyball Club.

Following graduation, DeAnn continued to support the UNI team as a volunteer coach for two years, before becoming an assistant coach at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.  She balanced her Wartburg and her junior club volleyball involvement with employment at a Waverly financial services firm until moving to the Kirkwood head coaching role in April 2003.

DeAnn has proven to be a focused, dedicated, hard-working coach in her young career.  "I look forward to the opportunity to work with talented and motivated players at Kirkwood and throughout my summer camps. I have had the chance to compete with and learn from some of the best players and coaches in Iowa and America.  Nothing would make me happier than to share some of what I have learned with young people, who want to excel in volleyball, school and life."
